Christmas on the Green

At Number 17

Milnthorpe's Christmas on the Green committee would like to announce that this year’s event will go ahead at Number 17 on Saturday 3 December 2016 from 10 am to 3 pm.

The event faced cancellation last year due to forecast heavy rain and gale force winds. However, thanks to Ian Mills at the Cross Keys Hotel, who with 5 days to go stepped in and offered his hotel, Christmas on the Green was not defeated by what became Storm Desmond.

The event has faced issues with the weather over recent years and the majority of the feedback was supportive of keeping the event indoors. The committee have listened to this feedback and have pursued an indoor event again this year.

Kate and her team at Number 17 have offered to house the event this year and the committee have accepted her kind offer.

It is so refreshing to know that we live in a village where businesses and their owners such as Ian Mills and Kate Cook are so generous with their premises and time.

We look forward to seeing you at 'Christmas on the Green at Number 17' and to reflect the change of venue we are welcoming children to design this year’s poster to advertise the event. Details of this completion will be available at the local primary schools in September or by contacting Suzie Kavanagh Chair of COG at suzanne.kavanagh@ btinternet.com

We hope as a community you continue to support this event.
